Youth Art Classes

Our art and pottery classes teach artists, age 4-18, beginner, intermediate, and advanced techniques in painting, drawing, watercolor, pastels, ceramics, and mixed media projects. We provide a fun environment where students can experiment, create and nurture a life-long love of art. All supplies and a pre-packaged snack are included. Classes are offered after school, during school breaks in our art and pottery camps, and on some weekends. Give the gift of art with private party or giftcard to The Artist Outpost!

Build creative confidence and explore color and techniques in painting, drawing, and mixed media art. Join our spring semester (January 8 to June 3) any time:

Kids love clay! Learn to throw on the wheel, hand build a variety of decorative and useful projects, and glaze. Book the 6 weeks or drop into a single class for $70.

Dynamic projects challenge students with drawing, color mixing, depth, perspective, and shadow. Join our spring semester (January 3 to June 5) any time.

Projects are based on student interest, whether perspective, shading, shadow, portraits, character building, etc.

Teen and tween artists are inspired to new heights, combining knowledge with confidence to develop technique and style. Join our spring semester (January 9 to June 4) any time.

Learn beginner to advanced techniques in hand building planned projects as well as  those from your imagination and throw on the wheel. Glaze pieces in the last class.

Join us for a first “Drop In” class for $35 with code, “triala” for beginners or “trialb” for intermediate or advanced! Classes are enabled with sibling discounts. First time students, signing up for a full semester, please contact us for a discount code!

We accept charter school funds and are an approved vendor for Pacific Coast Academy.

We also offer one on one classes, college portfolio preparation and review, and parties.

Looking for a fun and unique way to celebrate a special occasion? Host an art party at our studio! We lead guests in a project reflective of your child’s interests, whether animals, flowers, beaches, famous works, or pottery.

Private parties have a $400 minimum. Save your date with 50% down, which goes toward your party total.

Our art and clay camps meet during San Diego Unified breaks! Select a week to join us. Contact us for 10% off code for campers attending multiple camps or siblings attending the same camp.

Spring Break artists will paint, craft and collaborate! Select our full day option from 9:00-3:00pm for $585 or half days from 9:00am to Noon for $300.

Pottery campers hand build, throw on the wheel, and underglaze pieces! Select our half day option from 9:00am-Noon for $440 or the full day 9:00am-3:00pm for $690 and add on an afternoon of games like blind folded drawing and collaborative projects like mural drawing.

Art Show Pop-Up

Starting at the same time as Toddler Time, make a painting or craft inspired by our annual art show theme, the wild wilderness of creativity! All materials provided.

Toddler Time

Our child-led sensory workshops are designed for kids, “walking-age” to 5 years old, to investigate, learn, and play through this first exposure to materials, experiments, and creativity! Make a mess, meet new families, and have fun!

Art Club After Dark

Our art party of creative games and silly group projects are now just for teens! Age 11 to 18.

Pottery Workshop

Your child will love the mess and hands on nature of clay. Students “throw” on the pottery wheel and hand build a project. They pick a glaze color and pieces will be ready for pick up after bisque and glaze firing.
